Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 1, 2026

Effective Arts Labs ("Effective Arts", "we", "us") is a digital product studio based in Toronto and Montréal, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website at ealabs.io and our booking site at book.ealabs.io (together, the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (including the amendments known as Law 25).

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide. When you contact us or book a call, we collect the information you choose to share:

  • Contact form: your first and last name, email address, phone number (optional), and the contents of your message.
  • Booking a discovery call: your name, email address, phone number, and any project details you include, along with the appointment date and time.
  • Correspondence: emails, calls, and messages you exchange with us.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the Site, we collect limited technical and usage information:

  • Analytics: we use PostHog to understand how visitors use the Site — pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and on-page interactions. Our analytics respects your browser's "Do Not Track" setting.
  • Error diagnostics: we use Sentry to detect and diagnose technical errors on the Site. Error reports may include your browser type, device information, and the actions that led to the error.
  • Spam protection: our contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which analyzes technical signals to distinguish people from automated abuse. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide the information or services you request;
  • To schedule, confirm, and manage discovery calls and appointments;
  • To prepare proposals and deliver our services;
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
  • To protect against spam, fraud, and misuse; and
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Consent

By submitting information through our forms or booking tools, you consent to our collection and use of that information as described in this Policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting us at info@ealabs.io. If you withdraw consent, we may be unable to provide certain services.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) for analytics and security purposes described above. We do not use advertising cookies. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; the Site remains usable with cookies disabled, though some features may be limited. We honour the "Do Not Track" signal for analytics.

5. Service Providers

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us operate the Site and our business, and only to the extent needed:

  • PostHog, Inc. — website analytics (data processed in the United States);
  • Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) — error monitoring (data processed in the United States);
  • Google LLC — reCAPTCHA spam protection and calendar scheduling for booked appointments;
  • Our hosting providers — the Site is hosted on cloud infrastructure that stores form and booking submissions.

Because some providers operate outside Canada (primarily in the United States), your information may be processed and stored abroad and may be accessible to authorities in those jurisdictions under their laws. We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our rights, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or sale, subject to appropriate protections.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law. Inquiry and booking records are generally retained while we have an active relationship with you and for a reasonable period afterward, after which they are deleted or anonymized. Analytics data is retained in aggregate form.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Ask us to delete your information;
  • Withdraw your consent to our use of your information; and
  • Ask questions or make a complaint about our privacy practices.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@ealabs.io. We will respond within the timelines required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Québec, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the appropriate authorities of any breach as required by law.

9. Children

The Site is intended for businesses and their representatives. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
